A better quality version without the vocal.Mix file provided for those who want to know how I did it.

US2K Review: I cannot review my own music but I will say this has been produced with more care than the vocal version which was distorted ( I had no hi fi or speakers only headphones ). A big thank you to Max Motion for scoring this mix with 9 out of 10.

Hi John , hope last weekend went well for you m8 , new Track for you

US2K Review: The mix introduction begins With a clap drum roll, a raspy phased/sweeped trance synth answered by a higher octave techno lead sound, some percussive and bass drum fills. This is cleverly done because it is although each instrument is introducing themselves to the listeners. After the 21 second mark a sound effect a harrier taking off introduces a four on the floor bass drum pattern with a snare sometimes accenting. The sweepy trance instrument plays a more rhythmic, catchy but nevertheless abstract melody which in my opinion is this tracks hook and could be danced to. To keep the things interesting there are snare drum rolls are after every 8 bars. At the 52 second mark there is a short drop of the drum pattern, shortly followed by an acid sound effect and the return of the main groove, this time the hook is effectively answered by another synthesiser lead for a few bars. This combination of leads continues with a longer break from the bass drum at the one minute 12 second mark and a few snare rolls. When the bass drum returns later it seems to play an alternative syncopated pattern. This seemed to me intentional extend the bridge/middle 8 and also tease the listener who wants the four on the floor and main groove to return. Interestingly enough after a new variation of the synthesiser melodies and the harrier take-off sound again, the 2 minute 27 onwards towards the conclusion there is a partial return of the four on the floor, snares attempting to drive the mix, catchy, but is it enough to dance to? This is intriguing and art never the less as I just know with Max this was intentional. The conclusion of the mix via variations of the bass drum and snare rolls works very to bring the final end arrangement of a synthesiser duet and a drum roll at the 3 minute 42 second mark to finish. My opinion of the mix is that the structure despite being a little abstract for dance music works well. The attention to detail in the composition of the instrument and drum Pattern variations is fascinating. Sound effects are used affectively in places instead of a crash to announce changes in the mix. A flange or pitch effect been applied to the snare rolls to make them sweep upwards and roll more. There are many more affects such as delay and reverb being used on instruments to improve their prescience and generally polish an already well-produced mix. I am unsure of the wide audience appeal of such this more abstract sounding tech trance (for one thing there is no bass instrument) track but the more I listen to it, the more I like it. My score has risen from 7 to 8 out of 10 and I suggest everyone has a listen.

US2K Review: This mix begins with a crash an immediate and 4 on the floor beat, with a tech/trance bass line faded in. At the 11 and 26-second positions the beat drops temporality. The later time when the beat returns an accent clap joins the mix. After which the accented 4 on the floor continues on without any change until the 1 minute 3 second mark. Eventually the beat drops, and on the groove arrangement' s return the accent clap does not come back. Shortly afterwards the groove drops again and a catchy trance melody not so smoothly enters the mix. Sassa does use his impressive trademark sweep blend effect to eventually get the melody to work better as a hook by the 1 minute 41 second mark. The mix sounds really good at this point. At the 2 minute 16 mark there is a jet engine sound that announces a middle 8 or bridge piano section, accompanied by a dreamy pads/string line. This is very well done but a little too soon, and the catchy hook should have continued longer, in my opinion. Back to the mix though, after the string/pad and piano section a skilful sweeping down cymbal, and then a sweeping up orchestral sound effect at the 4 minute 53 second mark, announces the return of the hook, but when the drums return it is too quiet. In fact even later the rest of the mix despite excellent crashes, claps and 4 out the floor the hook ( one possibly better than I coudl create ) is never utilised well enough. The conclusion to the track is bass drum, closed hat or shaker and other percussion with fills. The track finally ends at 6 minutes 12 seconds. My original comments on this mix stand, changes are not as smooth as demonstrated by Sassa in previous productions, and also there are sections at the beginning that go on too long without a change, and a hook that is initially played for too shorter time, and when given the chance to be in glory at the end was not loud enough. My review score is still high but maybe not 9. There is very good production, use of sound effects, reverb and evidence of great musical talent in structure and music writing, but this track although having the potential to be a 10 and well worth a listen for progressive trance fans, can only presently score an 8. With work this track could be a club hit.

US2K Review: The introduction of this track begins with some sound effects which almost sound synthetic animal and bird sounds, a throbbing dance bass line and lead synth. After a few bass drum and clap rolls, and 13 seconds a main 4 on the floor bass drum pattern enters the track. Interestingly enough although there is a closed and open hi hat unexpectedly the clap snare used is not accenting but playing an almost rock off beat pattern. This makes the track no less danceable though, as the foot is already tapping at this point. 'Give it Up' continues on with the synthetic animal sounds, but after 37 seconds there is a noise like a power drill in the mix, and even wackier by 55 seconds we have atmospheric steam train sound. A drop of the drums shortly follows this effect. The arrangement left, consists of a clap, a beepy acid-like trance lead, and a bass but this is soon joined by a new vocal shout, and the steam train sound again which announces the return of a swift fade of the original bass drum pattern, this time the clap plays off beat and accent. By the 1 minute 14 second mark this is infectiously catchy with a wicked hook formed by the combination of a trance/acid lead accompanied by an "answering synth". The track continues further with vocals keeping extra interest. The mix finales after a steam train sound with faster variations of the hook, then an effective fade out to nothing. This track I originally scored with an 8 out of 10 which I will rise to 9 now. My reason for this is the structure is very well thought out and the production very polished. Additionally there is good use of imaginative sound effects, vox, fills, and note variations to keep the track interesting. I conclude that "Give it up” is very fun listen and recommend everyone who enjoys dance music to have a listen.
