Knocked it down to 110 b.p.m , relax and chill

US2K Review: This is a mellow, ambient slightly sci-fi sound track mix. The introduction consists of a main theme, an ambient lead playing a melody line at a high octave which although is not immediately catchy , is made interesting by a second synth sound playing a stab of notes that answers it. At the 26 second mark a bass drum, clap and snare enter the mix. From this point on there are variations in the melody, occasional acid bass sounds and other sound effects. At the 1 minute 34 mark there is the beginning of the last passage of this track which is formed from a more exciting up-beat variation of the main theme concept. This is avery well chosen arrangement and melody as it leads to the conclusion at 3:03 well, which a slower version of the melody proceeded with some extra finale synth sounds and percussive claps. On reviewing I think my original 8 of 10 for this mix was a little low, particularly as it is very imaginitive, interesting original, intelligently structured and well produced. I score it with 9 out of 10 and recommend everyone has a listen.

US2K Review: This is modern harder trance mix which begins with a hard bass drum with pounding bass line. After a few seconds a a skillfully used rising sweeping/whooshing sweep sound introduces a hook line melody, a squelchy acid-like lead line, which forms one of the main themes. This is shortly followed by another instrument to provide harmony, atmospheric sound effects and after 27 seconds into the mix , shortly after a bass drum roll, an accent snare joins the arrangement. After 47 seconds another synth sound is used to announce a variation of the main hook this time time accompanied by a rythmic apreggio like riff, forming a second key theme.Bass and snare rolls are used to keep the repeated theme interesting. After 1 minute 22 seconds the drums drop and the rising sweeping/whooshing and other sounds are used to begin another passage of music consisting of alternating variations of the themes from earlier occasionly filter sweeped and accompanied by alternive sound fx. Another bass instrument at a higher octave enters later in this passage to add interest and excitement to the mix. 3 minutes into the track the drums are dropped and the conclusion to the track begins with theme two first with bass drum and snare but finally ending on a series of duet synth arrangements, with a delayed solo at the very end. My score for this is 9 out of 10. It is well structured, has some interesting catchy melodies, there is excellent studio production with intelligent use of atmospheric sound effects to do the job of a cymbal, and skilled use of delay, reverb etc.

Hi Nigel , interested in your opinion on this one.

US2K Review: The track starts with a trancey synth and a few occasional bass drum sounds. After 10 seconds a full bass drum pattern shortly followed by snare accenting second beats but also varying after 8 beats. After 23 seconds a different synth sound leads with occasional laughter vox and other intentionally discordant beeps and stabs, drum rolls. This creates a fairly catchy rhythmic sound-scape. After 1 minute 22 the drums drop and then return the series of leads and sound effects and other new ones. After the minute mark things carry on this way but with more experimental changes, until a final ending on a raspy sound after 3 minutes 32 seconds. This is modern trance more for listening to not dancing too, although between the 2.48 mark and the 3 minute mark there was a temporary dance hook which due to personal taste I would liked to have heard for longer. My score for this mix is 8 out of 10. It shows imagination and great talent and is well produced and very modern.

Haven't produced any music for quite a while , knocked this one up over the last few weeks .

US2K Review: "Custodian" begins with a acid filter bass riff which falls sharply of 4 seconds, rising again after a sound effect and the introduction of a bass drum. After a drum roll and the 22 seconds mark a snare joins the mix. The main hook is formed when another synthesiser answering the bassline melody enters mix. After a break at the 1.05 mark and a nice metallic sounding sound effect the new synth takes the lead playing a new hook. Then a longer break with water and bell/bird sound, and a whooshing siren effect reintroduces the original main hook which is better this time as a range of sound effects and I am not sure but there seems to be another instrument other than the acid bass and the answering synthesiser. From the 3 minute 10 second mark it evident this track is working towards a conclusion that is a variation of the acid introduction bass drum and finally the bird/bell sound. My score for this track is 9 out of 10 as it is very well structured and progresses and flows well, The snare rolls are great and the sound effects have been used well to both produce atmosphere and serve the purpose of a cymbal crashes. The production and mixing is excellent too. This is a very good modern trance track produced with Fruity Loops 9.

US2K Review: This begins with a immediately danceable drum loop. After 27 seconds the bass drum drops for a beat and then returns with a new sound effect. After 53 seconds there is whoosh sound effect and then a catchy electro bass pulse. After 1 minute 8 secs the bass drum and snare and a succession of percussion is added. On 1 minute 39 all drums drop returning with the sound effect and foot tapping percussion. Another synth enters the mix forming a catchy danceable hook. At 2 minutes 54 seconds there is a whoosh sound announcing a new synth lead, which is joined by a drumbeat at the 3 minute 12 secs mark. I think this lead when on too long with out a sound effect to break it up. At the 3 minute 30 mark the electro lead sound is delayed or doubled and the a full drum pattern kicks in including hi-hat. There is a break of the beat again and then it is nice to near the bassline from earlier entering the mix again. The mix concludes after a drop of the drums and the electro syth lead sound soloing, on a drum pattern fading out from the 5 minute 6 sec mark to the end. My score for this mix is 7 out of 10, as it is foot tapping at times and well produced. One thing though as already mentioned there is an instrumental solo in the middle which goes on a little too long without any backup. Some percussion or sound fx could have been used to break it up a bit.

US2K Review: “Party Session” begins with a tight funky drumbeat joined by typical elctro sound fx. A sound effect whoosh sound at the 35-second mark introduced an electro bass line, which is shortly joined by a bass drum and then a clap, which really get the foot tapping. At the 1 minute 13 second mark there is short drop of the drums. When the drums return, open and closed hi hats accompany them. At the 1 minute 44 second mark we have electro beep sounds which are shortly joined by the bass drum and a clap after a short drop of the beat again the clap and then the hi hat. The mix finishes on a combination of bass drum and hi hat followed by a faded out bass drum solo. My score of this competent electro track is 8 out of 10. Although this genre is my least preferred kind of music I appreciate that is a well structured for style of music, and fairly polished in production and has enough variation to keep it interesting.
